Thanks for the inspriation Gene! I am now one of your green buddies! I am sitting here sipping a delicious smoothie of apple banana strawberries and Russian Red Kale with ground flaxseeds. Talk about a hearty, healthy breakfast! I love to be eating this way when the rest of the country is eating fat and sugar ladened "goodies". I too am gaining lightness. I've gained 30 lbs of lightness and I'm going for 50 more. I know that the raw food lifestyle is the way to do it.
Thanks for all the tips and inspiration!
Very Happy Holidays to you, younger Gene!

HI Vicki.
You asked how coffee affects eyesight. This is my understanding:
1. Caffeine in coffee causes abnormal changes in the blood vessels which results in reducing the nutrients to the eyes.
2. Coffee affects our mood; first we get a lift, then a drop in mood. (this accounts for some folks craving more and increasing their coffee or soda consumption.)
3. Coffee is a diuretic which leads to dehydration and thus less oxygen and nutrients to the brain and eyes. (Remember...we see with our Mind/Brain and just use our eyes.)
4. Coffee is acidic and body cells thrive in an alkali environment. That would include the major organ of eyesight... the brain! ...as well as the eyes.
The second part of your question is a little harder to answer in this format. Perhaps resistance would be a good topic for a Clear Vision naturally Newsletter.
Thanks for asking Vicki and Be Well

My question is about coffee and how it affects eyesight(I drink quite a bit).
You inspire me to improve my diet by adding more veggies and fruits and cutting back on coffee and sweets.
The second part of my question or comment is the fact that I resist or block the steps to healing(relaxation/mental./emotional/healthyeating to name a few).Suggestions of how to let go of the resistence/blocks?

You have done so well with the healthy eating/drinking. Three cheers!!!
I know my energy meter is drained..ugh! Need high grade fuel and exercise to boost my energy level. So easy to speak but not so easy to put into action!!
Thanks

Hi Roger,
Some raw greens that are 'loaded' with nutrition are mild and taste very good when blended well with your favorite fruit.
Come to the next Raw Food Demo at the YMCA and we will show you how to make a delicious smoothie!

Best Regards,
Gene

Gene

Congratulations on the latest. My wife's niece is into green smoothies in Portland. I copied the recipies you provided. Maybe we will try them... well, except the "stinging nettles" maybe. That sounds wild. I'm glad someone else was the first to test that one. Take care.

Hey you! I took your indirect appeal to encourage me to look at this aspect of my life. I came home from our last meeting and called a nutrition list. My husband had been asking me to look into our diet for years. With my goal quickly approaching and the need for my family to be healthy, it's time for me to face the music. I'm also excited about finding someone to help support the changes I make...I will have someone to send my husband to that will enforce the truth about food. (He wants this too! It's not always easy to break any kind of addiction. Just imagine when it's your dealer who’s changing the drug of choice!)

Gene...Very interesting. I have heard of the Raw Diet before. I enjoy cooking and don't know if I could eat things cold all the time. I will look at her cook book.
I will be interested in how this affects you. Good luck.
